Egyptian Faience Sekhmet Amulet, Late Period, ca. 715-330 BC This amulet depicts the head and upper torso of the lion goddess in light green faience. Sekhmet, whose name means 'she who is powerful,' personified the aggressive aspects of female deities and acted as the consort of Ptah. She is usually portrayed as a woman with a lioness's head. Also what is quite interesting is the fact that below the chin of the lionness is an "Eye of Horus". Ex Midwest Collection formed before 1967. L. 1" with base (2.5 cm).
